Description

Description

This new module should not be judged by its size, at 6hp it’s packed with features.

At its core it features a noise source and two precision Sample & Holds that drastically reduce the typical voltage drop over time (20 minutes for a 0.01v drop) and with 0.3% of maximum deviation from the Input which allows for quantized signals to be sent through without any noticeable detuning.

The Sample & Hold sections can also be used as a Track & Hold, meaning it holds the incoming input while the Trigger input is ON and lets the input flow to the output when the Trigger input is OFF.
Each section also features its own slew processor with a single control over attack and decay and an ON/OFF switch.

The noise signal is normalled to both sections inputs, meaning that without a jack plugged into the Input, the sample and hold function will act upon the incoming noise signal, generating random CV values.

The [Trigger A Alternate] switch allows to Link both sections so that any trigger input in Trigger A will alternate between triggering the A and B section.

Besides each section outputs there are also 4 extra outputs: Noise, Difference, Average and Sum. The [Noise] output is coming from the noise source, the [Difference] output is the subtraction of section A minus section B, the [Average] output is the sum of both A plus B and then divided by 2 and finally the [Sum] output is the sum of both A plus B sections.

Custom Panel

Custom Panel

In case you're wondering: Sure! We can get you a custom coloured front panel for the ADDAC215.
It has an additional cost and takes 4 to 6 weeks to be ready.

At the moment the ADDAC215 standard panel colour is Black.

A custom colour panel can be done in either Red, Green, Blue, White, Silver Gray, Yellowed Silver, and Dark or Light Bronze.

Print colour varies between Black, White, or Red, Yellow, Blue and Green. We recommend lighter-tone print for darker panels, and vice-versa.

Please note: we don’t stock custom coloured panels. For every custom order we need to make a single panel order from our panel provider. This explains the panel price and lead time.

DIY Kit

Slew Time

Slew Time

When designing this module we opted for a long slew time, this was decided in order for the slew to be able to smooth out the internal noise source to a slow moving voltage.

It has come to our attention that some users find this fixed slew time range too high and would prefer a smaller range mainly to use the slew as a portamento when using the sample and hold for 1v/oct sources plugged into VCOs.

We will keep our initial slew range [max 25s] as a default but user's can now request the shorter slew range [max 6s] when buying directly from us.
We also added both capacitors to our DIY kit and added all info on our Assembly Guide pdf. This will also allow experienced users to make this change themselves.
Beware that desoldering the smd electrolytic capacitors isn't an easy soldering job as it may lead to breaking some pcb tracks and thus rendering the slew function unuseable and hard to repair.
We can't offer any warranty if you accidentally damage your pcb.
